74 year old man dies after coming off pedal bike in Kilmarnock street

A pensioner has tragically died after coming off his pedal bike in Kilmarnock.

The 74-year-old man was found injured beside his bike on MacDonald Drive at the junction with Milton Drive, around 10.30am on Friday, April 19. He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he died later that day.

Now, police have issued a request for information. “We received a report of this on Monday, 22 April, and we are carrying out inquiries to establish how the 74-year-old man came about his injuries,” stated Sergeant Brian Simpson of the Road Policing Unit at Irvine. We are in the process of gathering information to help us determine the circumstances, so if you were in the vicinity of Milton Drive on Friday morning, please get in touch with us as soon as you can.

Additionally, I’d want to ask anyone with a dash cam to look through their film for anything that could help with our continuing investigations.
