Detectives are seeking information after a 36-year-old man was seriously injured in Kilmarnock on Thursday, March 21.
Between 5 and 6 p.m., the man was approached from behind and assaulted on Welbeck Street.
He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where staff described his condition as serious but stable.
Detective Sergeant Graham Cuthill stated, “Enquiries are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the event and acquire additional information to identify the person guilty for this attack.
“Anyone who was in the vicinity of Welbeck Street during the hours specified is asked to contact us. We would also encourage drivers who have dashcams to review their film and contact us if they have any pertinent information. Please contact us at 101 and reference incident number 2726.
