Police were summoned to the busy Kilmarnock Road when a man passed away suddenly.
Although there are no suspected suspicious circumstances, the death is being investigated as unexplained.

Following the untimely death of a man on Friday night, police were called to a busy Kilmarnock road.

Dundonald Road was stopped for several hours when an 80-year-old man died for no apparent reason.

The incident happened close to Porter Drive and the flyover bridge over the A71 bypass.

It is believed that the guy at the focus of the event was a biker, and that the collision did not include any other cars.

Even though the death is mysterious, police acknowledged today that there don’t seem to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the occurrence.

Four hours after the incident was initially reported to the police, Ayrshire Roads Alliance announced that the road had reopened.

“Police were called to Dundonald Road, Kilmarnock, at approximately 4:05 p.m. on Friday, May 10, following the sudden death of an 80-year-old man,” a spokeswoman for Police Scotland stated.

The death is being investigated as unexplained at this time, but no suspicious circumstances are thought to have occurred.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
