When the smash occurred, the woman was pronounced dead.

There was a terrifying crash in Ayrshire last night that resulted in the death of a woman and the serious injuries of another man.

The deadly collision on the A71 at Loudoun Golf Club occurred just before 530 p.m. and involved three cars.

Three vehicles were involved in the serious incident: a green Land Rover Discovery, a blue convertible Volkswagen Golf, and a white Vauxhall Corsa.

Although emergency personnel arrived quickly, the driver of the Golf, a 72-year-old woman, was declared dead at the site.

The driver of the Corsa, a 37-year-old man, was brought to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where his condition is classified as serious but stable, according to confirmation from the police today.

Nobody else sustained any injuries. On Sunday, July 21, 2024, at roughly 1.30 am, the route was closed and reopened.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances,” stated Sergeant Andrew Coutts.

We are requesting that anyone who witnessed what transpired get in contact. Similarly, get in touch with police if you have dashcam evidence that can help with our inquiry.
