Before moving to Super League ahead of the 2019 season with Warrington, the Parramatta native made over 100 appearances in the NRL, for Penrith Panthers, Wests Tigers and most notably, Canberra Raiders, for whom he scored 34 tries in 88 games.
He also made an appearance for England in 2019, as well as two appearances for Great Britain in their tour of the Southern Hemisphere.

Blake Austin, a former Leeds Rhinos player, discussed the distinctions between the NRL and Super League with former Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos half-back Blake Austin.
The Parramatta native played over 100 games in the NRL for the Penrith Panthers, Wests Tigers, and most famously, the Canberra Raiders, for whom he scored 34 tries in 88 games, before going to the Super League ahead of the 2019 season with Warrington.
Along with two appearances for Great Britain during their Southern Hemisphere tour, he also played for England in 2019.

Speaking on James Graham’s The Bye Round Podcast, a former resident of St. Helens,
“No offence, James, but there are these big, silly forwards everywhere who, you know, flop in from an angle, and in the NRL, the game moves so quickly that it’s difficult to hurt anyone at all,” he uttered.
“You’re preoccupied with carrying out and adhering to your duty in work.
They would rather win a game 40-38 in the Super League than 6-0. They are in the mood for excitement.
“People frequently inquire, ‘What’s the difference?’ It’s really difficult, dude. Football is difficult.
Austin began his Super League career at Warrington Wolves, where he scored 33 tries in 67 matches, or nearly one every two games. It was his most productive period of play.
