Rob Burrow’s former teammates, including Leeds Rhinos icons Ali Lauitiiti and Danny Buderus, will be in attendance as the team gets ready for an emotional Headingley homecoming on Friday. The Rhinos’ annual MND Awareness game will be especially meaningful next weekend as it will be the first home game since Burrow’s untimely death earlier this month at the age of 41.

Leeds has confirmed that the game, which is quickly approaching a sell-out, will see Leigh Leopards visit Headingley. On what is sure to be an emotional evening, there are just under 500 standing tickets and less than 50 seats available for the South Stand.

There will also be a handful of legends who were teammates with Burrow in many of Leeds’ illustrious teams. This features Australian Andrew Dunemann and cult hero Lauitiiti, who were both a part of Leeds’ 2004 Super League Grand Final winning team—the team’s first championship in a generation.

Moreover, legendary hooker Buderus will travel to England for the match. He was one more who contributed to Leeds’ prosperity in the 2000s, and a number more There will be other teammates present as well. The Burrow family is scheduled to attend as well.

Moreover, Cath Muir, an MND patient herself, created a unique uniform just for the Rhinos to wear during the match. The Leeds players will wear the kit in Friday’s game after receiving permission from the Burrow family. Burrow approved the kit months before he died away.

Members of the MND community are invited to Headingley to help pay respect to Burrow, and Leeds anticipates that Headingley will be completely sold out for the match.
