At several Super League teams, focus is already shifting to long-term aims and objectives as they go forward with their recruitment strategies for 2025.

Leeds Rhinos have only revealed Ryan Hall as a new signing for 2025, so they still have a lot of work ahead of them in terms of recruiting for the upcoming season.

The Headingley team has previously announced that James Donaldson, David Fusitu’a, Kieran Hudson, Corey Johnson, Rhyse Martin, and Luis Roberts will be leaving at the end of the current campaign.

However, how are the other members of their existing squad faring?

As things stand, Brad Arthur’s team will undergo a change at the conclusion of the following campaign. Twelve players in the Australian head coach’s team have contracts that expire at the end of 2025.

These include back-rower James Bentley and native prop Mikołaj Oledzki, along with international trio Matt Frawley, Sam Lisone, and Paul Momirovski.

In 2026, 11 more players will see their contracts expire, including captain Cameron Smith, England international winger Ash Handley, full-back Lachie Miller, and star half-back Brodie Croft.

The present contracts of regular starters Andy Ackers and Harry Newman are also scheduled to expire at the end of the 2026 season.

The players whose contracts are scheduled to expire after that have very little experience; among the ten players who will be off-contract in 2027 are Marcus Qareqare, the younger brother of Castleford Tigers winger Jason, Riley Lumb, and Ben Littlewood.

The only active Rhinos player whose contract expires at the end of the 2028 season is youngster Presley Cassell.
