As they continue to rebuild, Leeds United has accepted a bid for one of its high-profile acquisitions from the Marcelo Bielsa era.

After missing out on promotion the previous season, the Whites have a busy summer ahead of them with several of its star players linked to departures.

In fact, Leeds has already sold Archie Grey to Tottenham for over £40 million, while players like Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville are still being connected to departures.

Apart from the players who are frequently discussed, Leeds United supporters and manager Daniel Farke are less concerned about losing other players.

Diego Llorente, a defender, is one of those players.

Furthermore, Leeds has now accepted an offer to sell the Spaniard, according to Graham Smyth, a journalist with the Yorkshire Post covering Leeds.

Leeds accept improve offer to sell Diego Llorente

Speaking to X to provide an update on the issue, Llorente is said to be in talks with Real Betis about returning to Spain. Smyth has stated that Leeds did, in fact, accept a bid overnight.

Smyth also made a comment regarding Llorente’s stay at Elland Road and provided more context for the matter.

“It will remain undisclosed, but I wouldn’t anticipate it deviating significantly from the numbers released yesterday. Just a step up. Arriving, he skillfully delivered it into the forwards’ hands, appearing somewhat of a bomb-scare as he defended, and then he was gone. Goodbye.

Naturally, Leeds had to pay roughly £23 million to acquire Llorente in the first place, and it’s improbable that they would have received that much money in return.

The talented Spanish international, who performed admirably while on loan at Roma last season, is returning home to play in La Liga for the first time since 2020.

Leeds, on the other hand, is hoping that the money they received would ease the disappointment of not getting promoted and possibly relieve some of the strain on other sales.
