In light of the Whites’ failure to make it back to the Premier League, Leeds United has additional players besides Marc Roca who are eligible to go out on loan once more this summer.
Daniel Farke would have been successful with 90 points in almost any other season if the goal of this one had been to return to the Premier League.
But it wasn’t enough, and Leeds lost the playoff final at Wembley, which raises questions about the loan players who left after the team was relegated in 2023.
Marc Roca confirmed to be free for second loan spell away from Leeds
Marc Roca, who has already stated that his agreement in 23/24 allowed for a second loan spell if Leeds weren’t promoted, is the first of that loan contingent that looks certain to be heading straight back out this summer.
Estadio Deportivo confirmed this by stating that Real Betis, his loan team, is eager to sign him again for the upcoming campaign, but they postponed it until after Leeds’ attempt to get promoted was unsuccessful.
After the loss at Wembley, Betis now know they can sign the player on loan rather than committing to the £10.2 million buy option.
Will Leeds get promoted next season?
Sources: Leeds have other loan clauses similar to Roca’s that will emerge soon
It seems like more players than just the Spanish midfielder could be leaving on a temporary basis this summer.
Leeds All Over has received information from sources indicating that additional players included in the group of temporary 2023 exits have the option to return to the club on loan in 24/25.
Although the players’ identities are still unknown, Roca might not be the only one who can talk about leaving Elland Road on loan.
With high-profile sales undoubtedly in the offing and another window to manage those signings during Leeds’ tenure in the Premier League, Leeds and the 49ers will have another uncertain summer.
Max Wöber and Brenden Aaronson are not considered to have the same option as Roca, according to information the YEP has previously disclosed, so they are not included in this.
Leeds face uncertainty yet again in summer window
The sales of Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville are obviously important, but dealing with these loan players is so annoying.
The 49ers are still forced to deal with the vile stench left over from Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta’s tenure here, which was initially perplexing about the clauses themselves.
Failure to improve should have prompted a strong response from us this summer, but if these players are leaving again and the money isn’t coming in, it will negatively impact our incoming business.
