Aussie star Matt Moylan insists he’s going nowhere and will be playing for Leigh in 2025.

The former Kangaroos international joined the Leopards as their big marquee signing from Cronulla on a two-year deal this season. He’s been ever-present and was in red-hot form at full-back as they destroyed Salford 40-12 on Friday.

Reports down under, though, have said ex-Penrith schemer Moylan is open to the idea of a swift return to the NRL. It would be a bitter blow for Leigh who have already seen captain John Asiata confirm a move to Hull for 2025.

Ex-England centre Zak Hardaker is also set to make the same switch and even boss Adrian Lam has been sounded out about joining the Black and Whites. Losing former New South Wales State of Origin ace Moylan back to the NRL as well, though, would be a hammer blow.

However, when questioned if he would still be with Leigh in 2025, he firmly stated, “Yes.” Indeed. Where it [narrative] originated is unknown to me. I have never spoken or considered returning home to play NRL. When I saw that, I was just as startled as everyone else.

This year, we’ve played in a number of games and allowed it get away from us due to mistakes and penalties, which puts unnecessary strain on us.

It’s encouraging to have a game where we could exert maximum pressure, play well on both sides of the ball, and take advantage of opportunities when they presented themselves.

Josh Charnley, 32, is a prolific winger who scored his 300th career try against Salford with a magnificent second try. “It’s huge,” said Moylan about that incredible feat. While I can barely score one, he has 300. It’s a huge compliment to him and evidently the kind of play he’s put in for so long. There’s little wonder he’s been able to cross the line so frequently; his ability to finish tries is incredible, and the one we saw tonight demonstrates just how he can position himself to finish a try.

Moreover, Leigh revealed this week that Charnley, the former star of Warrington, Wigan, and England, has inked a new contract through 2025. And Moylan said, “That’s huge.” He has played a major role in the side over
