“We are looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop, and I think he will continue to become an even better player

Pegrum joined the Orient first team in August of this year, replacing Theo Archibald as a substitute in the season opener against Charlton Athletic, having advanced via the Orient academy. Pegrum has played in seven first-team games for the O’s, including his appearance at The Valley. He has played in three Sky Bet League One games, three Bristol Street Motors Trophy games, and one EFL Cup game.

On signing his deal, Pegrum expressed his delight, stating: “I’ve been at the club for six or seven years now, and this is all I’ve ever wanted. I’ve been working hard for as long as you can imagine. It’s such a good feeling to now have it done.

“I feel like in pre-season I came back really strong and was able to make an impression in the first team. I’m really grateful that I’ve been given my chance, and this season has been a really good experience for me, and I have been working really hard to get as much experience as I can.

“The staff have been helping me on and off the pitch with things like reserve games, and the information they give me is to make sure I can improve as much as possible.”

Orient Director of Football Martin Ling added: “Charlie has been in the system for a long time now, and his development has been really good. He’s stepped into the first-team setup really well, and he more than holds his own as part of the squad.

“We are looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop, and I think he will continue to become an even better player who we think will be pushing for more pitch time next season.”

Congratulations, Charlie!
