Millwall will see the defender return from his loan spell at Lincoln City in League One.
Mitchell, 22, made 41 appearances for the Imps in all competitions this season, 36 of which were league games.
According to London News Online, Harris has offered the following update on his situation at The Den: “Alex has played a lot of football on loan, so we’ll have to talk to him about next season over the summer.
“Alex is a player I know from my early days at the club. He is a player I have followed at various levels over the last few seasons.”
Millwall have a big decision to make regarding the future of Mitchell. He still has another year left on his contract.
The centre-back could provide useful competition and depth to their defensive department ahead of the next campaign.
The Lions should aim to secure a fee for him in the next window or in January to avoid losing him for free in June 2025, when his contract expires, if he isn’t part of their plans.
He has made one first-team appearance and spent time on loan at Bromley, Leyton Orient, and St Johnstone.
Lincoln City came knocking last summer, and he has played plenty of minutes at the LNER Stadium this season.
The Imps, led by ex-Leeds United coach Michael Skubala, missed out on the play-offs after a 2-0 loss at home to champions Portsmouth on the penultimate day.
They will be hoping to rebound next year, and they will have a busy summer in terms of transfers.
