Lincoln Park, Michigan – A shooting outside a tobacco shop in Lincoln Park on Tuesday night killed one person and badly injured another, according to authorities.

According to investigators, at around 8:50 p.m., two persons were shot at a smoke store on Southfield Road near Applewood Avenue. One of the victims, a 39-year-old River Rouge resident, reportedly died on the spot. The other injured person was sent to the hospital and is in serious condition, according to officials.

Police say the suspected shooter fired a weapon at the victims’ car outside the store. It’s unclear how many rounds were fired.

Following the gunshot, the suspect reportedly fled the area, heading towards Ecorse. Police believe the two victims were targeted, and this was “not a random incident.”

No other information has been provided at this time. This is a continuing investigation.
