Breaking news: Major delays on M60 after two crashes with lanes closed

Due to two separate collisions on the M60 this afternoon, drivers are experiencing significant delays. ‘Long delays’ are being experienced prior to rush hour due to a lane closure following the two-car collision at J14 in an anticlockwise direction.

A second collision happened on the M60 anticlockwise carriageway from J2 a few minutes later, resulting in traffic jams and delays that extended to the M56.

There are highway officers on the scene as traffic is becoming more congested before rush hour. There are presently 40 minute delays due to the collision at J14.

There is still long delays on the M60 this evening following the two earlier collisions.

A broken down car at J18 M66 J4 (Simister Island) has partially stopped the M60 anticlockwise exit slip lane, causing traffic to back up.

Thirty minutes or more of delays persist following the two-car collision near J14.

Due to the two crashes and the broken down vehicle on the M60 this evening, there is miles of sluggish moving traffic.

The busy road next to J9 and 10, next to the Trafford Centre exit, is captured by motorway cameras.
Due to a “broken down vehicle,” another lane at J10 for the Trafford Centre has been closed, making the traffic already bad for drivers this evening.

Two cars were “smashed up” in the middle of the lane, according to a witness who drove passed the scene of the first crash, which happened close to the M61 intersection.

Soon after, police and highway officers came, one lane still blocked.
‘Queueing traffic’ is the outcome of the second crash, which occurred close to J2 for Stockport Road. There is traffic backing up to Princess Parkway’s J5, which is causing delays on the M56.
