Elderly cyclist left with life-threatening injuries in crash on busy road

At Louth, there was a collision between a cyclist and a car next to a petrol station. The air ambulance and other emergency services responded to the site.
A automobile and a cyclist collided, injuring an elderly man with potentially fatal injuries.

Around 9.35 a.m., there was a crash on Newmarket, Louth.

After the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance touched down at London Road, the guy is being treated by paramedics beside the road before being taken to a hospital.

It is believed that the elderly cyclist sustained potentially fatal injuries.
The collision occurred next to the Esso garage.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police stated: “He has been treated on the scene. It might be quite dangerous. When the crash occurred, he was riding his push bike.”
A spokesperson for the East Midlands Ambulance Service stated: “We got a call at 9.37am from Newmarket in Louth. The caller stated that a car and a bicycle had collided in a traffic incident. We dispatched an air ambulance, a crewed ambulance, a paramedic in an ambulance car, and a LIVES Community First Responder.”

Later, the air ambulance departed the scene.

Bystanders have reported seeing numerous police officers and emergency services teams at the area, and the route is presently closed.

“All the services were on scene very quickly,” stated one witness. That is indeed serious.

This afternoon, Newmarket is anticipated to be closed for a number of hours. The route from Upgate to the Church Street intersection is blocked and there is a police cordon in place.
