Tragedy as 33-year-old dies after crash on M6

At 2:00 pm, a Seat Altea vehicle drove off the southbound carriageway between junctions 33 and 32, prompting the dispatch of emergency services to the area near Bilsborrow.

The driver, a Carlisle resident aged 33, had serious head injuries when the car rolled multiple times and was subsequently sent to the hospital.

He sadly passed away yesterday. A case will be created and sent to HM Coroner eventually, according to Lancashire Police.

The woman in her 20s and the two kids in the car were treated at a hospital, according to the force, and were later released.

A 60-year-old woman passenger is still in the hospital.

Det Sgt Helen Parkinson of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit of Lancashire Police stated: “At this difficult time, my first and foremost thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones.”
