Manchester City are now looking to sign Alan Varela from Porto as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips, who is joining West Ham on loan.
According to Bolavip, Manchester City has already approached Porto to inquire about the Argentine.
Liverpool is also reportedly interested in signing Varela as Jürgen Klopp looks to improve his midfield options at Anfield.
Bolavip explains that Porto do not want to lose a crucial player in the middle of the season, therefore any interested parties should refer to the South American’s €70 million (£60 million) release clause.
Varela has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists from central midfield position.
