Manchester City are expected to fight with Barcelona to sign Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich.
After missing out on Declan Rice in the summer, Pep Guardiola appears eager to add another defensive midfielder to his squad.
Barcelona has long been associated with Kimmich, but a trade fell through due to financial issues.
They will also reportedly consider another move for him and want to maintain their interest in him.
However, according to Football Espana, Pep Guardiola now wants to reconcile with the highly regarded German defensive midfielder.
According to The Athletic, the reigning European champions will consider a transfer for Kimmich this summer.
The 28-year-old’s contract with Bayern expires in 2025, and both teams could be looking to sign him on a free transfer.
Kimmich joined Munich in 2015 after 53 appearances for RB Leipzig, where he has 26 goals in 248 games.
Another Bayern Munich player who could be on the move is Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies.
According to sources from late last year, Real Madrid is more convinced than ever that he will join them next summer.
According to a Spanish outlet, Los Blancos are now confident in signing Davies at the end of the season after negotiating with him and his agent Nedal Househ.
The club and player are said to be in ‘complete accord’ on the transfer, which is anticipated to cost between £34 million and £44 million.
