Marcus Rashford’s teammates are outraged by the Manchester United player’s most recent violation, which has brought him into confrontation with manager Erik ten Hag.

According to a statement released by United on Monday night, Rashford has ‘taken responsibility’ for his actions following his meeting with Ten Hag yesterday.

However, it has been revealed that Rashford went on a 12-hour tequila bender in Belfast the night before missing a Friday morning training session at Carrington, which has left senior players very unhappy.

They were disappointed to learn the genuine reason for his absence in the run-up to United’s FA Cup match against Newport County, the club’s only realistic chance to win a trophy this season.

A source told The Daily Mail: ‘The players were informed he was too ill to train, but it was later revealed that he had been to the nightclub. They couldn’t believe he’d do it considering the club’s current position.

United have not responded to speculation about Rashford’s punishment. According to media sources, ten Hag planned to fine Rashford two weeks’ pay, which would amount to about £630,000. They confirmed that Rashford has resumed training and is eligible to face Wolves on Thursday at Molineux.

Rashford’s camp appears to have exacerbated the situation by fooling United following his most recent breach in Belfast.

They claimed that rather than Thursday, the player’s admission into the Thompsons Garage club in Belfast was caught on camera on Wednesday night, the night before a planned day off.

But it turns out Rashford was in another bar, Lavery’s Bar, on Wednesday before being seen on camera entering Thompsons Garage on Thursday. He was dressed in the same outfit he had worn earlier that day at Northern Irish club Larne FC.

United players are understandably furious with Rashford because they want to turn around their catastrophic season by winning the FA Cup, their only chance of silverware this season, and the latest incident of Rashford’s disciplinary issues does not send a good message to teammates or fans.
