Manchester United May Request These Three Barcelona Players In Mason Greenwood Swap Deal

Manchester United may benefit from Barcelona’s alleged interest in Mason Greenwood beyond swapping deal. The La Liga giants are rumored to want to sign the 22-year-old permanently in the summer, giving Erik ten Hag a rare chance to sign a top Barca player.

With seven goals in 16 league outings on loan at Getafe, Greenwood is flourishing. They couldn’t afford his transfer price or salary with one of the division’s lowest budgets.

United want to sell the academy graduate, and The Sun says Barcelona is first in line. After being released from Old Trafford, Greenwood wants the transfer to return to the top level.

Fiscal constraints have forced the Catalan giants to spend prudently. Therefore, Ten Hag should propose a simple swap or player-plus-cash deal for one of three Barca stars during discussions.

Ronald Araujo is a longtime United favorite. Greenwood’s offer might influence Barca transfer chief Deco’s refusal to sell the 24-year-old center defender, one of Europe’s most sought-after.

United may need to invest in the £69million Greenwood exchange plan to convince top authorities at the Nou Camp.

Another longtime Old Trafford player is Raphinha. Since Jadon Sancho is on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Antony is underperforming, Leeds United could use a top-tier winger like the 27-year-old, who flourished in the Premier League for two seasons at Leeds

As Barca trail Girona by eight points in La Liga, Raphinha has scored three and assisted five. Reports suggest the Brazilian is not essential in Catalonia.

Adding Andreas Christensen may be easier for Ten Hag and his transfer squad than adding Araujo or Raphinha. United and Newcastle allegedly monitor the ex-Chelsea player.

United need players, but Xavi has enough central defense cover. Raphael Varane will be out of contract in June, and Lisandro Martinez has missed games due to injury during the season.
