Luke Shaw, Manchester United’s defender, is set to return to squad training today after suffering a minor injury in the Premier League win against Aston Villa.

The England international was replaced at halftime at Villa Park. After the game, manager Erik ten Hag explained that it was a precautionary measure due to Shaw’s complaints.

Insider United, a social media account with inside sources on Manchester United injury news, has revealed that the left-back will participate in today’s training session.

The 28-year-old will be thoroughly evaluated by the medical staff. The consensus is that he will be alright and will play against Luton Town unless something is detected during the assessment.

Shaw’s early return will be a significant boost for United.
Victor Lindelof replaced Shaw at halftime against the Villans. The Swede struggled at the left-back position, losing possession seven times.

With Aaron Wan-Bissaka also injured, manager Erik ten Hag was unable to play Diogo Dalot at left-back. Shaw’s immediate return would provide a boost.

However, the club must continue to exercise caution with him. Shaw returned from a lengthy muscle injury layoff earlier this season, only to experience a setback before the end of the year.

The £32 million-rated star has a troubling injury record during his Red Devils career, and Ten Hag should avoid starting him on Sunday evening until he is fully fit.

United will be looking for their fourth straight league win at Kenilworth Road. It will not be a simple contest. Liverpool and Newcastle United both lost to the Hatters in their home ground.
