The French media is providing some interesting updates on Mason Greenwood’s status at Manchester United this week.

According to Foot Mercato, the player’s personal desire has given Marseille the upper hand in the pursuit of his acquisition.

Greenwood was reportedly not too willing to move from Manchester United to the Serie A team, and Lazio had also been in the running for his services.

The winger is truly “favouring” a move to Marseille, where the Red Devils and Marseille are now in contract negotiations.
There are even reports of some “optimism” on the part of the French, who think there’s a strong possibility the operation will be completed.

However, Manchester United is rumoured to be asking for €40 million for the deal; hence, they will have to be “more reasonable” in their negotiations.

The negotiation process is “full swing” as all sides attempt to reach a consensus. Greenwood’s deal with the Red Devils expires in a year, thus the English team needs to make the most of his sale during current transfer window.
