Two males were hurt in a double stabbing on a street during what the police described as a “disturbance involving a number of people.”
Police reported that both males had been stabbed, but fortunately they did not have significant injuries.
Police then made five arrests in a raid. Four men, ages 24 to 27, and a 17-year-old child were detained on suspicion of assault and were to be questioned today.
Violence flared on Middleton’s Langley estate on Friday afternoon.
As a result, police presence in the region has increased. Greater Manchester Police has not disclosed the ages of the injured men. Following treatment, “the extent of their injuries is not life-threatening or life-changing,” according to a force official.
Police stated that investigations were ongoing and no other information was made public.
A GMP spokesman issued the following statement: “Our officers were called to allegations of a disturbance involving multiple individuals on Windermere Road in Middleton at approximately 3 p.m. yesterday, Friday, June 28, 2024.
“After investigation, it was determined that two guys had been stabbed; happily, after medical attention, the severity of their wounds is not life-threatening or catastrophic.
“Following their arrest on suspicion of assault, four males, ages 24 to 27, and a 17-year-old kid are being held for further questioning.
“Patrols by local officers are in place for the community as we continue to investigate.”
