Before going to Milton Keynes, the striker was on a preseason tour with Salford.
Callum Hendry signed with MK Dons this afternoon after departing Salford City’s preseason tour of Ireland yesterday night.

The 26-year-old striker, who joins Karl Robinson’s Ammies for an unknown sum, is the ninth player to go through the door.
Max Dean’s exit became more plausible during the course of the previous week, and Dons made the move to sign the forward, who finished the previous season with nine goals in League Two, including a hat-trick against Tranmere Rovers. Max Dean’s departure was confirmed earlier today (Friday).

Hendry, the former Scottish international defender and Premier League winner Colin’s son, remarked that although the striker’s first 24 hours had been hectic, he was happy with the transfer.

“I flew over last night after speaking with the gaffer yesterday while I was in Ireland with Salford,” he stated. “(Mike Williamson) gave me an explanation of himself and his goals for me. He’s been excellent thus far. We had a 20-minute conversation over what he wanted from me and his desired identity, which seems to fit me, while I was completing the physical.

I’m here to score goals because that’s what he wants me to do—use my energy and be in the right position at the right moment. He was really easygoing and put me at ease.

“Karl looked after me and was incredibly nice to me. I have nothing negative to say about him because I have returned to the team and am scoring goals.

Hendry, who formerly played for St Johnstone in Scotland, leaves Salford after two seasons at the Peninsula Stadium with 24 goals under his belt.

Hendry, filling the void left by Dean, is confident that he possesses all the qualities needed to fit in at Stadium MK.

He went on, “I love to score goals and I’m honest and hardworking.” “I always want to play and have the ball.” I’ll give it my all in every game; I’ll run until I’m exhausted.

“I want to get among the boys as soon as possible, get in there, and help us up the league with goals.”

Hendry is not expected to play in tonight’s MK Dons preseason opener at Creasey Park in Dunstable against Barnet.
