Ged Brannan says that following their victory over promotion-chasing Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, his Morecambe players need not fear anyone in League Two.

For the second time in as many weeks, Brannan witnessed his club mount an incredible comeBback as they overcame a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 against a Crewe team that began the day in the final spot for automatic promotion.

With just 41 minutes remaining, Elliott Nevitt’s goal in the first half and Shilow Tracey’s early in the second had the Shrimps behind by two goals.

But Joe Adams, Jordan Slew, and Farrend Rawson scored three goals in a 15-minute stretch to cap off the Shrimps’ team’s latest comeback.
With the win last weekend, Morecambe moved up to tenth in the standings and had now won four and drawn of their six away league games in 2024.

With twelve games left, the Shrimps are just three points outside of the play-offs. Their first game is tonight’s rescheduled home game against Crawley Town (7.45pm).

Sixth-placed Walsall and 13th-place Harrogate Town are separated by just five points, and Brannan thinks his club has nothing to fear in this “crazy” league.

Even though we were behind, at halftime on Saturday, I told the lads that they were third in the league but not better than us,” the Shrimps manager stated.

They were not superior to us on a man-to-man or even team basis, so we persevered and won the points.

If we have courage and self-belief, we can succeed and achieve great success.

The league is insane, and the fact that Crewe could have finished second proves our ability.

We had moments of dominance over them, and we aren’t far behind in terms of ball passing efficiency.

It will be crucial for us to maintain player fitness, therefore we will rotate the players to keep everyone as fresh as possible.

We have a tremendous opportunity if we can keep everyone in good shape.

Everyone must seize the moment when it presents itself and utilise the entire team whenever possible.
