Some bus services in Newcastle will be diverted on Wednesday evening due to a planned protests.
Stagecoach has anticipated that its services will be diverted, as a precaution, for around three hours. The services affected by the diversion are the 10, 11, 12, 32, 32A, 37, 38, 39, 40, X82 and 685.
The company advised users to follow the Stagecoach North East X feed, formerly known as Twitter, for updates.
More than 400 people have been arrested across England and Northern Ireland since last Tuesday as events billed as “protests” rapidly descended into scenes of violent disorder. In the North East, violence has broken out in Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Darlington and Hartlepool.
37 people were issued with dispersal orders in Durham on Tuesday night, but there were no reported incidents of disorder or criminal damage. However, further protests are believed to be planned in towns and cities across the country, including some in the North East.
Northumbria Police has so far made 16 arrests, with seven charges and four convictions; while Durham Constabulary and Cleveland Police have also made several.

Services 10, 11, 37, 38, 39 and 40 will divert at St. James Boulevard. Buses will observe all stops along the line of the diversionary route.
