Crystal Palace’s win over Liverpool sent shockwaves through the Premier League, and new manager Oliver Glasner has challenged his team to build on that and become difficult to play against in every encounter.

Newcastle United travel to Selhurst Park on Wednesday night hoping to maintain their sixth spot in the Premier League. With the Eagles struggling at the bottom of the standings, it appears to be a major opportunity for Eddie Howe’s side, but their 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend has changed the picture slightly.

Palace face West Ham today before hosting Newcastle, and Glasner hopes to see all of the positives from Anfield continue against David Moyes’ team and Newcastle in midweek. The Austrian has posed a challenge to his team for the rest of the season, one that could influence how they set up against the Magpies.
It would be horrible if every club thought, ‘Oh, it’s good to play against Palace because we win!’, Glasner stated ahead of today’s encounter at Selhurst Park against West Ham.

We want to be difficult to play against… but in our own manner. We want to play confidently. We want to defend together. We want to attack collectively. We are always looking to score goals, thus this is our mindset. We’ve gained the lead in six or seven games, but it’s now up to us to maintain this level throughout the game.”
