Joe Rodon wants to move to Leeds United, but Newcastle United is thinking of making a move for him as an alternative to their top defensive targets.

Given their growing defensive issues, TEAMtalk claims that Newcastle United is prepared to examine Joe Rodon as a target before the summer arrives. Although the 26-year-old has excelled in the Championship, he wants to stay at Leeds United permanently as loan time at Tottenham comes to an end.

The Newcastle United is considering Joe Rodon.

Just before the international break, Newcastle United’s issues got worse when Sven Botman’s ACL injury seriously hurt their chances of qualifying for Europe. After a disappointing season, the Magpies have little chance of finishing in one of the European spots, and the Dutchman’s injury will complicate matters further for them.

Botman will be out for the majority of the upcoming season and the rest of the campaign. Since players typically require more time to heal from ACL injuries, Newcastle United will need to get a defender to replace the Dutchman. Joe Rodon is their most recent target. There have been rumours that the Magpies may have to trade one of their best players since they are not in the best financial shape.

Even then, there were connections to well-known defenders such as Antonio Siva and Leny Yoro, but none of them were financially viable. As a result, Newcastle United might now be focusing on 26-year-old sensation Joe Rodon, who is playing in the Championship for Leeds United and has had an incredible season.

The North Londoners are willing to trade him for a price of between £10 and $15 million, as his Tottenham contract expires in 2025. With Radu Dragusin joining the Spurs in January, the 26-year-old has no future there. Despite how great Newcastle United might seem to be, the defender may already have planned his next move.

Joe Rodon wants Leeds United to remain.

Joe Rodon has been a major contributor to Leeds United’s run in the Championship, and the team has a great chance to make a comeback to the Premier League. He has already been informed by Tottenham that they would sell him in the summer, but the player is willing to stay at Leeds.

He would like to relocate permanently to Elland Road, where the team may promise him a starting position should they get promoted to the Premier League. Newcastle’s hopes of luring the defender would be severely damaged if the 26-year-old sticks to his resolve to rejoin Leeds United, mostly due to the high cost of such a trade.
