It is confirmed by Newport County that manager Graham Coughlan resigned from his position at the club with mutual consent.

Huw Jenkins, the club’s chairman, affirmed: “I have the utmost respect for Graham and found it extremely difficult to make this decision, especially in light of all the hard work he has put in over the last 18 months to help stabilise the club.”

“It goes without saying that I hope Graham has the best possible outcome for his upcoming managing career.

“But going forward, I have to lead the team and the club in a different way and stick to my convictions, which I think will eventually bring Newport County consistent success and hopefully transform the club’s perspective for many years to come.”

The team wishes Graham well in his future endeavours and will make every effort to notify fans in advance of the upcoming season regarding the selection of a new head coach.
