After being cut loose by the Exiles at the end of the last campaign, the 20-year-old Blaenavon native has moved to Wiltshire to play for the Premier Division South playoff winners.

Bright made his debut for the Exiles in the EFL Trophy under Michael Flynn in 2020. He then played the final half-hour against Rochdale in the final game of 2021/22, under James Rowberry, for his first League Two experience.

The defender was released by County to give former Swansea City academy right-back Joe Thomas a chance. The Gwent defender has now chosen to cross the border, much to the delight of Salisbury assistant manager Callum Hart. The defender had loan spells in the Cymru Premier with Pontypridd and Barry Town United. Then, in the final stretch of the previous season, Bright got a chance when Shane McLoughlin and Lewis Payne were injured.

“We’re thrilled to have Harrison join our team in Salisbury,” the Cardiff coach remarked. “He’s a dynamic full-back who can outmuscle his opponent, so I’m sure he’ll thrill our supporters,”

“For someone so young, Harrison’s double-digit appearance total in the football league last season is a great accomplishment.”

In an attempt to return to the EFL, Bright has dropped down to non-league football, and Charlie McNeill, a former County loanee who left Manchester United, has signed with Sheffield Wednesday.

The 20-year-old striker was previously loaned out by the Red Devils to get experience in Leagues One and Two. He will now play in the Championship with the Owls.

The forward made his senior debut against Real Sociedad in the Europa League. He was a part of the Manchester United team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2022.

In the latter part of the 2022–2023 League Two season, McNeill experienced senior football for the first time in earnest with County.

He scored his first goal as a professional in the victory over Tranmere and then sealed the win at Rodney Parade against Northampton with a cool finish.

He played with the Red Devils in the preseason last summer, but after just three appearances, he was called back to finish the season with the academy after a failed loan to Stevenage in League One.

He will now attempt to advance with Wednesday following their remarkable run-in that kept them out of the Championship.
