After a stabbing at a comparable gathering in another part of the nation, police cancelled a planned event that was supposed to take place at a restaurant in Northampton over the weekend.
The event, which was scheduled to take place at the World Dorado Steakhouse in Wellingborough Road on Saturday night (June 22), was placed under closure order by Northamptonshire Police.

Officers say they learned of other incidents in other regions of the nation when a person was stabbed and a gun was discharged, so they asked to a magistrate for the closure order.

It was stated that the event will be a DJ night.

Chief Inspector Tom Thompson stated: “People’s safety is our top priority. While I understand that many will be upset that this event has been postponed, I also want them to know that we didn’t take this decision lightly.

Before requesting the closure order from the magistrate, we tried to learn as much as we could about the event, the people running it, and the outcomes of past events. Our goal is to allow people to come to our towns for a night out and know they are safe, and this kind of precaution helps to achieve that.
