Nottingham Forest approved the new sign deal

According to a rumour from Brazil, Nottingham Forest has expressed interest in teenage player Riquelme Filippi of Palmeiras.

The forward joined the Brazilian team in 2021 and was given a promotion to the U20 team the previous year. This season, he has played in 25 games for Palmeiras U20s and has managed eight goals and one assist.

Sporting and Nottingham Forest reportedly took notice of the 18-year-old, according to Globo Esporte.

He hasn’t yet made an appearance for the starting lineup. The youthful attacker’received an offer,’ allegedly from the Reds, who put up €6 million for 80% of the player’s rights.

Before reversing course, Palmeiras had first “given the go-ahead” to Nuno Espírito Santo’s side to seal the deal. They subsequently chose to keep Filippi on for an additional year.

Globo has not stated if Nottingham Forest intended to work out a deal for him to enter in the future or if they made an offer for an arrival during the summer window.

Filippi celebrated his 18th birthday over the weekend. This implies that his transfer to the Premier League team would not be possible until January 2025. Now that Palmeiras have turned down the English club’s offer, it won’t matter.

According to the rumour, Filippi would agree to a four-year contract with a €100 million option.
