The green light has been given to Notts County to establish a fan zone close to their Meadow Lane ground.
The Magpies plan to convert a 12,000 square foot former distribution warehouse located near to the stadium on Iremonger Road into a gathering place for supporters prior to a game.

When the Magpies are playing away, nearby Nottingham Forest will also be allowed to use the area.
The team plans to “invest further capital resources into the ‘fan offer’ and experience” at Meadow Lane, dubbed “The Nest,” as per a planning application filed by Grace Machin.
In addition, The Nest will serve as a multifunctional event venue for communal, recreational, and entertainment purposes.
According to County, they wish to imitate locations like Manchester City’s City Square, Burnley’s Rapidz Fan Zone, and Wembley’s Box Park. The Magpies’ event and stadium management team will be in charge of overseeing the site.
“Notts County FC is committed to improving the club’s overall facility mix to the local community,” the planning statement continues. The club has short-, medium-, and long-term investment goals for the stadium and neighbourhood infrastructure.
