The players who are not under contract with Oldham Athletic could find out today (Tuesday) if they will remain with the team or not.
Those whose contracts expire at the end of June will meet with manager Micky Mellon to talk about whether or not they are a part of his plans for the upcoming season at Boundary Park.
Dan Gardner, Mike Fondop, Harrison McGahey, Hallam Hope, and other members of the first team will meet with Mellon at Boundary Park today to discuss their future.
“We’ll have those discussions on Tuesday,” Mellon stated, adding that he will base a lot of his future decisions on the money.
“We need to get down and figure out where we’re going with it, but right now we’re in a situation where we have a lot of negotiating and jostling to do.
My current issue is that I lack certain places on the club and specific types of players that are necessary to make Oldham successful. The majority of the group is out of contract. With the group we have, it would be quite tough to create the kind of team you desire; it requires assistance. This group requires assistance. It requires more.
