Max Guenette, a defenseman for the Belleville Senators, and Cole Reinhardt, a forward, have signed one-year, two-way contracts. The value of Reinhardt’s deal is $95,000 in the AHL and $775,000 in the NHL, whereas Guenette’s contract is for $120,000 in the AHL and $775,000 in the NHL.
The 23-year-old Guenette, a native of L’Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, just finished his third professional season, playing mostly for the Belleville Senators of the AHL, where he set a new professional career high with seven goals, ranked second among B-Sens in assists (27) and led the team in points (34). Additionally, he participated in all seven Belleville Calder Cup playoff games, scoring one point (one assist).

According to general manager and president of hockey operations for the Ottawa Senators, Steve Staios, Max had a significant impact on Belleville last season. He moves the ball well and consistently shows sound hockey sense. We are eager to see him at training camp this autumn as he has been a worthy recall to Ottawa.

During the previous season, Guenette played in seven NHL games for the Senators, but he only managed two penalty minutes and no points. On April 13, 2022, at Buffalo, he made his league debut in Ottawa’s 2022–2023 regular season finale.

Guenette, who was chosen by the Senators with the team’s seventh-round choice (187th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver, is tied for the lead among Belleville rearguards with Thomson and sits second among all-time B-Sens defensemen in games played (178).

Reinhardt, 24, a native of Calgary, just finished his fourth season as a professional with the B-Sens. During 56 regular-season games, he racked up 76 penalty minutes and 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists). In addition, he skated in all seven of Belleville’s Calder Cup playoff games, scoring one point (one goal).

Staios stated, “Cole continues to showcase very good skating ability.” “With his size, he’s developed into a significant penalty killer. He is a capable defensive player, and in 2024–2025, we anticipate seeing further advancements in his general growth.

Reinhardt, who was chosen by the Senators in 2020 with the team’s second sixth-round selection (181st overall), is second in games played (225) and seventh in points (99) among all-time B-Sens. On April 7, 2022, he made his NHL debut—his only NHL game to date—at Ottawa’s home game against Nashville.

In the meantime, last weekend saw the signing of a two-year contract extension by B-Sens head coach Dave Bell.
