Four agree to be next eels coach as Brad Arthur leaves parramatta

According to reports, the Parramatta Eels and coach Brad Arthur are about to part ways, with the NRL team making a big push for Wayne Bennett, who is headed to the Souths.

The Melbourne Storm crushed the Eels 48–16 at Magic Round over the weekend, adding insult to injury for a coach who had only managed three victories out of ten games this year.

After taking over as temporary coach in 2012, Arthur, 49, led the Eels to the 2022 grand final, where the Penrith Panthers defeated them 28–12.

The Eels lost six of their last seven games and are currently experiencing a terrible run of play after missing the finals the previous year.

Mitchell Moses, the standout halfback, hasn’t been available for Athur since round three due to a foot ailment, which has only made his suffering worse.
The 49-year-old insisted he “would never walk away from a fight” and declared following the Storm loss that he was the right guy to turn things around.

He declared, “I still have faith in this team, but they need to start believing in themselves, especially when we’re facing some challenges.”
