Bailey Simonsson, an outside back, is confirmed to be sidelined for the remainder of the Parramatta Eels season.
Simonsson, who will have his contract terminated at the end of the season, suffered an ACL tear last Thursday against the Cronulla Sharks and will need reconstructive surgery.
The team also disclosed that Ryan Matterson, a second-rower, cannot return to the field until he has completed a full week of training.
“Ryan Matterson is making good progress from persistent headaches he has suffered from recently,” the statement stated.
“He needs to complete a full week of training, including contact, before he can return to play.”
