According to Cambridgeshire Police,’multiple people have been injured’ in a five-vehicle collision on the A1 in Peterborough.
The collision occurred near Wansford shortly after 3 p.m.
The road has been stopped while emergency crews work on the incident.
A police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 3.07pm today (5 April) to reports of a collision involving five vehicles on the A1’s northbound carriageway near Wansford.
“Several people have been injured, but further details are unknown at this time.”
“There is increased congestion in the area and the road has been closed.”
Motorists are urged to avoid this area.
