Peterborough United fans have unanimously decided who they want to face in the League One play-off

The supporters of Peterborough United have almost unanimously declared who they would like to face in the play-off semifinal.

After Posh defeated Fleetwood Town 4-1 on Tuesday night at the Weston Homes Stadium to secure their spot in the postseason, the PT asked the team’s supporters to predict who would play in the semi-final.

First and foremost, particular recognition should go to the youthful, exciting squad for earning a play-off spot with three games remaining. I suppose I couldn’t have Sheffield Wednesday in the play-offs, but that can wait till it’s a Championship matchup the following season. @buckrodgersposh

It doesn’t really matter who we get because we can lose at home to Carlisle just as easily as we can win at Derby. When we play our best, we can defeat any of the probable rivals, but if forced, our present record suggests Barnsley would be the team to beat – @derren_cooper.

Fancy us over two legs, Barnsley? It’s been a while since we lost there! Whatever happens, the final will be difficult to predict until I’ve seen Bolton’s most recent game.

We can easily defeat Barnsley in the semifinal, especially because the second leg will be played at home — @wackerlegend

Sincerely, I don’t mind. For the playoffs, every team will start over. — @DazMoody

The huge away end of Barnsley is @martyntiney.

Manager unrest and Barnsley in all its forms – @Alexnelson2004

rivals? @ChefLeggett: “Not bothered as the Posh are going up.”

If Barnsley makes it to the semifinals, anything may happen at Wembley; but, I would rather have a third-place club than a sixth-place team. @EspieJaz
Barnsley in the semifinals because we’ll have two simple games against them and Derby in the championship game. Gruffalo76 @

We can cause difficulties for anyone, whoever we play – @StevenAdams2

Barnsley. We’ve had two successful seasons there. We have a good possibility of getting them back here. @eamonnduff

Barnsley, since Oxford and Lincoln are both finishing well, one of them will have momentum going into the play-offs (Of course, Oxford crushed us over the weekend). @Romysdad

For me, Oxford or Lincoln. We perform well against Barnsley, but they tend to edge it in the playoffs and prefer not to put it to the test – @Posh089

After Barnsley, maybe Oxford might work for me. Wembley is the ideal venue for exacting retribution after a 5-0 thumping — @Rutlandspinner

On the 4-1 victory against Fleetwood.

In my more than 40 years of supporting Posh, it has got to be some of the worst linesmanship and refereeing I have ever seen — @gruffalo76

Move MOM in my direction! Thanks to two pen saves, an assist, and further saves, @nigelcornw89750

It takes 89 minutes and 45 seconds to go from hell to heaven. Bad officiating gave us the advantage by rousing the home crowd and causing mayhem in an otherwise dull match — @mattmecham
