The acquisition of defender Ben Heneghan to Port Vale FC is official as his contract with Fleetwood Town comes to an end.
The 6′ 3″ centre back signs a contract that will keep him at Vale Park through at least the 2026 summer. Heneghan, 30, is well-known for his aggressive, no-nonsense style of play. He and Darren Moore won a promotion together at Sheffield Wednesday before Heneghan’s most recent campaign at Fleetwood Town.
Another player I know well from my days at Sheffield Wednesday is Ben, who will provide our defensive unit some genuine competition—something we truly want at the club.
