Should Jaden Philogene go from Hull during the summer, they ought to consider resigning their on-loan winger.
Under Liam Rosenior’s leadership, the Tigers have had a difficult season. Alun Ilcali, the club’s owner, has given Rosenior a lot of support in the transfer market.
Hull is now two points behind sixth-place West Bromwich Albion, sitting in seventh position. But with one game remaining, they must win their final encounter and pray that West Brom loses.
There may be some significant departures this summer if Hull fails to qualify for the playoffs; players like Jacob Greaves and Philogene have been linked to moves.
However, Hull might already have Anass Zaroury as a successor in their ranks if Philogene departs.
After joining from Aston Villa in the summer, Philogene has made 30 appearances this season, tallying 12 goals and dishing out six assists.
The 22-year-old’s displays have attracted a lot of attention, especially after his goal against Rotherham United went viral with rabona.
Owing to his advanced age, numerous transfer rumours have indicated that Premier League teams are considering hiring him.
Crystal Palace is reportedly considering him, although TeamTalk reports that Tottenham Hotspur is leading the hunt for him. In addition, Villa is rumoured to have a buy-back option for him from Hull, though it’s unclear if they’ll exercise it.
However, the winger’s €30 million (£25.7 million) price tag from Hull owner Ilcali may deter teams. However, teams like Tottenham can still afford to pay the price.
Hull will need a successor since Philogene might go this summer, and Zaroury is the only person they need to look towards.
The Moroccan is currently on loan at the Tigers from Burnley. Although he hasn’t quite reached his former level for the Clarets, his play from the previous campaign indicates he has what it takes to be among the greatest wingers in the division.
With a total of 101 points from their 34 games played, Zaroury’s seven goals and five assists helped Burnley win the Championship last season.
The 23-year-old’s goal against Sunderland during the previous season is a shining example of Zaroury’s skill; he picked up the ball on the edge of the box, cut to his preferred right foot, and fired the ball with tremendous power and accuracy into the upper right-hand corner from the edge of the area.
Should Philogene depart, Zaroury may have the chance to seize control of the left-wing position. Given that Wilson Odobert, Luca Koleosho, and Manuel Benson are Burnley’s players above him in the standings, he might also be available on a permanent basis.
Zaroury would be a great substitute for Philogene, and he should be quite easy to acquire with the money they would receive from the sale of Philogene.
