Reading FC have rejected transfer advances from Championship side Stoke City for winger Femi Azeez. According to TEAMtalk, the Potters hold strong interest in bringing Azeez to the club, but the Royals are determined to hold onto the winger. Azeez missed out on Reading’s away trip to Birmingham on the opening day of the League One season and also the EFL Cup tie at Colchester, but Ruben Selles played down any transfer rumours and said that he was struggling with a back injury.

Azeez is under contract for another year at Reading after the club triggered an option to extend his deal by an extra year at the end of last season. The 23-year-old made a significant contribution to Ruben Selles’ side in League One last season with eight goals and nine assists. Azeez had been subject to interest from several clubs last January as the Royals looked to raise funds to try and improve their financial situation.

There has also been several other Championship clubs seeking a move for Azeez, including Plymouth Argyle and Millwall.
