Dan Sassi, a defender for Blackpool, has extended his loan at Rochdale, the club’s official website reported.

The young player has been allowed to stay with Blackpool’s non-league team until the end of the current campaign.

After a one-month trial, Sassi, 20, signed with the National League team in February and has since made six appearances across all competitions.

It has been confirmed by the Seasiders that he will remain at Spotland until the summer and then return to Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool will be hoping that Sassi, who has a contract there through the summer of 2026, can eventually make the transition into their starting lineup.

The fact that Rochdale desired to retain onto him indicates that he is doing admirably for the North West team.

Before being signed by the Seasiders in 2022, Sassi was a player on the rosters of Stoke City and Burnley. Due to competition for spots in his position, he hasn’t played for his current squad yet, which is why he was given permission to leave temporarily.

Right now, Blackpool wants to make it to the League One playoffs. The team led by Neil Critchley is ranked ninth in the standings.

With seven games remaining in the season, they are just three points outside of the top six and are vying for sixth place with teams like Oxford United, Stevenage, Lincoln City, and Leyton Orient.

The Tangerines lost 1-0 away at Wigan Athletic last time out and are back in action this Friday with a trip to Pride Park to take on automatic promotion chasing Derby County.

They then face Wycombe Wanderers on Easter Monday as they look to hit some form again.
