Blackpool, Bristol Rovers, Wycombe Wanderers and Shrewsbury Town are chasing Rochdale attacker

This summer, Rochdale forward Devante Rodney is being pursued by Blackpool, Bristol Rovers, Wycombe Wanderers, and Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

Rodney, a former young player for Manchester City, has an expiring contract this summer, and potential suitors are prepared to make an offer for the attacker to rejoin the Football League.

Rodney, 25, has scored four goals in his last five games, including a last-minute equaliser against Hartlepool on Easter Monday. Rodney missed a significant portion of the season’s beginning due to illness.

Rodney will be a free agent at the end of the season, and teams like Exeter City, Carlisle United, Blackpool, Bristol Rovers, Wycombe, and Shrewsbury will be vying for his signature.

Due to his illness, Rodney has only made 16 appearances this season, all of which have been in the National League.

In his absence, Rochdale has struggled, as evidenced by the fact that they are currently in 11th place in the standings after 42 games played. Of those 42 games, they have only won 15; the other 16 have resulted in draws and losses.
Versatile attacker Rodney has contributed to the goals scored this season with five goals in all while healthy.

His four goals in his past five games have been crucial to Rochdale’s recent mini-winning streak. The team won three straight games against Woking, Eastleigh, and Maidenhead United last month, but after losing to Gateshead and drawing with Hartlepool United, they have already lost their last two.
The mid-table team’s next match comes on Saturday, April 6, away at Oldham Athletic, who are currently four points ahead of Rodney’s Rochdale in ninth position in the National League standings.

Rodney, who wants to keep up his impressive run in front of goal, is looking forward to the journey to Oldham after scoring an equaliser in the 96th minute of Easter Monday’s draw at home against Hartlepool.

The attacker’s contract at Rochdale expires this summer, and several English Football League teams are reportedly interested in signing him after the National League season. The attacker spent a portion of his youth career at Premier League powerhouse Manchester City before leaving in 2013. He has over 60 appearances under his belt at Rochdale.

In other news, titans of the EFL might have to take a striker offer.
