After 39 games this season, the home team has 52 points, which puts them three spots below the playoff qualification line. Meanwhile, the away team has 45 points and is still very much in the running for relegation.

Rochdale, a fan-owned team, has until the end of the month to find new funding or risk having to liquidate after years of precarious financial conditions.

Though nothing is certain just yet, current rumours indicate that World Soccer Holdings, a Texas-based company, may be able to save the Dale from going out of business because they are rumoured to have signed a letter of intent to buy the team in the upcoming weeks.

The Dale have been unbeaten in their previous three games, which include back-to-back victories over Woking and Eastleigh as well as a draw against Oxford City. It appears that the chance of staying in business has given the Dale some much-needed optimism.

If Jim McNulty’s team wins on Saturday, it will be the first time this season that they have won four straight games. However, Maidenhead United, who held the Dale to a 2-2 draw in the rematch back in October, will be a formidable opponent.

The Magpies are currently just two points ahead of York City, who are the first team below the dotted line, after their 4-1 loss to Dagenham on the road midweek. Nevertheless, they have not been at their best since the New Year.
