Rochdale makes a proud statement#

Together, Rochdale AFC and Rochdale AFC Community Trust back the Unite for Access campaign from Level Playing Field.

Rochdale AFC and the Rochdale AFC Community Trust are joining forces to celebrate Level Playing Field’s Unite for Access campaign this Saturday, March 9, 2024, which is a momentous occasion. This year’s campaign emphasises the value of inclusivity and accessibility in sports while attempting to educate football fans about the fact that not all disabilities are evident.

Football is a platform for celebration, inclusivity, and unity rather than just a game. Whether they are in the stands or on the pitch, everyone should have a secure, pleasurable, and comfortable experience. In keeping with this philosophy, Rochdale AFC and its Community Trust are pleased to support Level Playing Field in this crucial campaign as a show of solidarity.

Before the match, Rochdale AFC’s First Team players will wear warm-up shirts bearing the Unite for Access Campaign logo as part of our dedication to encouraging inclusivity in football. Fans on and off the pitch receive a strong message of inclusivity and solidarity from this overt show of support.

It is also with great pleasure that we announce the presence of other local SEND groups in the stands, in addition to our Ability Counts Teams and SEND Ambassadors from Rochdale Council. Their presence not only emphasises the value of inclusivity but also shows how hard everyone has worked to make sure that everyone in the football community feels valued and welcomed, regardless of ability.

“We are ecstatic to be a part of Rochdale AFC Community Trust’s Health and Inclusion Coach, Nathan Ashurst,’s Unite for Access campaign,” said.

“At Rochdale AFC and our Community Trust, we firmly believe in the power of football to bring people together. By supporting this campaign, we hope to raise awareness and foster a more inclusive environment within our club and beyond.”
