Getting roasted amid immense Rotherham United#

The72’s writers offer their QPR vs Rotherham United prediction ahead of their Championship clash on Saturday afternoon.

Coming into this weekend’s match, QPR is riding high as we approach the business end of the campaign, having recently defeated Bristol City 1-0 away from home.
With just one point separating them from 21st place Millwall, Martí Cifuentes’ team, who are still in the Championship relegation zone, secured a decisive three points thanks to a goal from Ilias Chair in the first half.

In contrast, Rotherham United suffered a devastating late blow in their most recent match, losing 4-3 at Portman Road to Ipswich Town.

Tom Eaves gave the Millers the lead at the beginning, but Wes Burns’ braces on either side of Kieffer Moore’s run gave the Tractor Boys the lead. After Rotherham’s Hakeem Odoffin pulled one back, Cafú’s late penalty tied the score at three, but Omari Hutchinson’s goal a minute later sealed Ipswich’s victory.

With 13 games remaining, the outcome put Leam Richardson’s team at the bottom of the table, 14 points outside of safety.

Here are some of our writers’ predictions for the match…

Jacob Hackett

If other results go their way, QPR can move up out of the bottom three with a victory over the Millers this weekend. They are inching closer to safety. Their confidence will undoubtedly have increased after their recent victory over Bristol City, and they will definitely fancy their chances of defeating Richardson’s team at home.

“Rotherham must feel as though there is nothing left to do to evade the fall. This season, things are simply not going their way, as evidenced by the manner of their most recent loss.

“This weekend at Loftus Road, I see only one outcome, and that’s QPR picking up another huge three points.”

QPR vs Rotherham United prediction: 2-0

James Ray

“QPR has a great chance to win another important game in their battle to avoid relegation. Although it may sound harsh, playing at home against Rotherham United is actually the easiest matchup of the season because the Millers are at the bottom of the table and perform poorly away from home.

“Leam Richardson’s team will have found the midweek result difficult to accept, but it demonstrates that they still have what it takes to succeed individually rather than hopelessly escaping the drop.

Regretfully, though, I believe the R’s have the players to overcome them and possibly even survive. I’ll aim for a 3-1 QPR triumph.

QPR vs Rotherham United prediction: 3-1
