The agreement that saw him relocate to Barnsley at the end of August across the Dearne Valley did not include a recall mechanism for the following year.
The 26-year-old spent the second half of last term on loan at Leyton Orient.
“To be honest, I have no idea,” he said. As far as I know, I will be returning to Rotherham in the summer because I still have a year left on my contract there.
“Definitely,” he replied when asked if he was open-minded about his future. There hasn’t been much communication from Rotherham; perhaps a little flurry at the beginning of January. Apart from that, though, not much has happened.
Six league games remain, after which there may be play-offs, or something else entirely.
“The main goal is to get a promotion, so it’s a really good opportunity to get some more games in and impress everyone here.”
Robbie Cundy missed Monday’s match at Burton Albion due to a minor hamstring strain, thus it is unlikely that he will play.
Collins stated: “Everything is (mostly) good right now.
“Robbie had a minor hamstring strain, but he was supposed to play on Monday at Burton.
The situation is still developing, so it’s possible he won’t return in time.
“Everything else is good, aside from that.”
