After a woman in Rotherham passed away, South Yorkshire police opened a murder inquiry.
Just before 5:55 p.m. on Friday, June 21, officers were first notified of an incident occurring at a property on Herringthorpe Road.
Responders discovered a woman inside the property who needed emergency medical assistance when they got at the scene.
She received emergency medical attention while there, but in spite of their best efforts, she was declared dead there.
Following the occurrence, investigations were conducted, and a 56-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
After the attack, the suspect is still being held by the police, and the man is being questioned by them.
Additionally, road closures are in place at the Herringthorpe Road site as There are still questions.
Following the incident, South Yorkshire Police have now issued an appeal and are requesting that anyone with information contact them as soon as possible.
We are asking anyone who saw unusual activity in the area during the attack, or who may have any pertinent information, to come forward.
