Man found dead in Rotherham car

Police have identified 38-year-old Lee Davies as the man who perished in what appears to have been an attack in a Rotherham parking lot.

In the wee hours of Tuesday, he was transported from Drummond Street to the hospital.

A lady detained in connection with the inquiry has been released, but three males who were detained on suspicion of murder are still being held.

In Eastwood Park and Drummond Street, where patrols have been stepped up, police are still investigating.

The Senior Investigating Officer in this case, Detective Chief Inspector Ben Wood, stated:

“We want to reassure the community after the upsetting news from yesterday.

“There will probably be more police in the area, and I would urge anyone who has any concerns to get in touch with our officers.

“We have established two cordons in Rotherham, and investigations into Lee’s death’s circumstances are still ongoing.”

If you have any relevant video, information, or if you saw something that could aid us in our investigation, please let us know this event, then please do not hesitate to contact us as it may be very helpful to our inquiry.”
